Job Description:
As a DevOps Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for managing our production cloud environment. You will establish configuration management, automate our infrastructure and implement continuous integration to ensure quick development and release of software.
We are looking for a passionate DevOps Lead Engineer with strong technical expertise and hands-on experience implementing various practices and tools in the DevOps. As a Lead, you will be responsible for the 24X7 team of DevOps engineers, managing them as per expectations. You will be reporting to the Senior Engineer Manager and work on automation processes, standardizing technologies across our global application portfolio, and improving operations efficiency. You will be responsible for driving the best practices for operations and enhancement of our cloud platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Define Standard Operating Procedures, train and monitor the DevOps team’s performance.
- Designing and developing all aspects of Continuous Delivery implementation
- Design, build and maintain a stable and efficient infrastructure for both cloud and On Premise to optimize service delivery across production, QA, and development environments throughout the development lifecycle.
- As a DevOps lead, you develop, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging, and deployment platform
- Implements automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, scale-up / scale-downs, security tools, monitoring, and Deployment of both cloud and On Premise infrastructure.
- Management and maintenance of our current GCP and AWS infrastructure
- Provisioning of existing/new service/resources with best business practice
- Identify and advocate opportunities for technical and cost-saving innovation
- Collaborate with developers bringing operational and security standard awareness
- Maintain development of operational business best practices and procedures
- Proactively meet standards for information security and compliance
- Conduct DevOps tool research, evaluation, proof of concept, installation, configuration, and training
- Perform Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Deployment, and Dev Ops processes with technologies and platforms including Python, Jenkins, Kubernates , Docker etc.
- Raising support calls with vendors and involved in Root cause analysis for server and application problems.
- Perform research, propose and prototype new principles, technologies, tools, and concepts, and integrate them into the team’s collective knowledge
- Troubleshoot problems, outages, and performance issues.
- Produce necessary documentation and illustrations to support the changes of the agreed technical and process solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in DevOps and SaaSOps related field.
- Min of 2 years’ experience in managing a team of DevOps engineers
- Solid hands-on experience with cloud architectures AWS, On prem infrastructure handling
- Strong knowledge of Linux / Should be able to handle on prem infrastructure for maintaining scalability and security
- Experience with GCP / AWS: Compute, Cloudstorage, cloudrouter , Stackdriver , monitoring, Load Balancing.
- Docker management: Kubernetes / GKE hands on
- IaC tools: Terraform, Cloudformation are a must
- Config Mgmt : Ansible/ Chef / Puppet
- CI/CD: Jenkins, Cricle CI
- Development Language: Python / Ruby
- Observability Platform: OpenSearch, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix
- Cloud security, compliance, and network design.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
- Utilizes the DevOps model approach
- Must have strong communication and analytical skills, able to work collaboratively with a variety of technical and non-technical groups
- Willing to learn / Good to have knowledge of incremental back up for databases, percona tools etc.
